The RS6 Avant Performance combines a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 with 48V mild hybrid technology for 630 ps and 850 Nm, thanks to larger turbochargers and increased boost pressure of 2.6 bar compared to the standard RS6. The eight-speed automatic sends that through quattro to all four wheels, with a mechanical centre differential that splits drive 40 percent front and 60 percent rear as standard, and can send up to 85 percent to the rear axle when needed. A rear sport differential and rear-wheel steering provide agility you would not expect from a car this size.
Fun fact: despite its brutal power, the RS6 Avant easily returns low consumption on steady runs, helped by cylinder deactivation that shuts down half the cylinders at constant speed without you noticing.

De achttraps automaat stuurt dat via quattro naar alle vier de wielen, met een mechanisch middendifferentieel dat standaard 40 procent naar voor en 60 procent naar achter stuurt, en tot 85 procent naar de achteras kan sturen wanneer nodig. Een sportdifferentieel achteraan en achterwielbesturing zorgen voor wendbaarheid die je niet verwacht van een auto van dit formaat.
Leuk detail: ondanks het brute vermogen haalt de RS6 Avant in rustig rijgedrag makkelijk een lage verbruikswaarde, mede dankzij cilinderdeactivering die bij constante snelheid de helft van de cilinders uitschakelt zonder dat je het merkt.

Anecdote: malgré sa puissance brutale, la RS6 Avant affiche facilement une faible consommation en conduite stable, grâce à la désactivation de cylindres qui coupe la moitié des cylindres à vitesse constante sans que vous le remarquiez.
