This Chevrolet Corvette C4 is one of the iconic American sports cars, here offered with the desirable ZR-1 Special Performance package. A well-preserved example of the breed, it would now make a head-turning addition to any collection of 1990s Muscle-Cars, as well as an exciting weekend cruiser.
Powered by the Lotus-engineered 5.7-litre ‘LT-5’ 32-valve V8, producing around 375hp, and coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, this Euro-model was sold new and first registered in Switzerland in July 1990 (so this is NOT a US-import !). This car is now located and registered in Belgium, where it has been for 6 years.
Showing around 82,000 km, this ZR1 is finished in red, with a stunning black-and-red interior. Equipment includes the ride and handling package with the famous adjustable Magnetic Ride suspension, specific 1990-year only 17-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, uprated braking system, air conditioning, power-assisted steering, cruise control, power windows, leather-trimmed sport steering wheel, electrically adjustable sport bucket seats, onboard KM / Miles computer, electric heated wing mirrors, pop-up headlamps, solar glass, and two removable one-piece roof panels: a red one and a transparent one. An updated VDO Dayton stereo has been fitted.
This car was featured on the cover of the french magazine Auto-Rétro nr 522.
Sold with its original owner’s manuals and stamped service book, along with a collection of maintenance invoices and registration documents, and a box of spare parts.
The last main service was in 2021, involving replacement of the engine oil, oil filter, auxiliary belt and idle throttle control, and refurbishment of the intake seal. In 2023, a service has been done including oil change and overall mechanical check, replacement of the battery and installation of a kill-switch and a rear anti-fog light.
