THE 930 TURBO
The Porsche 930 Turbo needs little introduction. Introduced in 1975, it brought turbocharging to the 911 road car and quickly established itself as Porsche's flagship performance model. For 1978, the engine was enlarged to 3.3 litres and gained an intercooler, increasing output to 300 hp.
The combination of its wide body, distinctive rear spoiler and turbocharged flat-six has made the 3.3-litre 930 one of the most recognisable and sought-after versions of the classic 911.
THIS 930 TURBO
Completed at Porsche's Zuffenhausen factory in 1987, this 930 Turbo was delivered new in Germany through the famous Werksauslieferung or factory delivery. The car is finished in the highly attractive combination of Marine Blue Metallic over a matching Marine Blue leather interior. The factory specification includes full-leather Sport seats, electrically adjustable seat height, a sunroof, Blaupunkt Berlin radio and the deletion of the rear model designation.
The car retains its original German Fahrzeugbrief, providing clear documentation of its first registration and early history. Around 2011, it moved to France, where its maintenance was extensively documented. In approximately 2017, it was acquired by its current owner and subsequently became part of a private Porsche collection, where it has been used only sparingly.
The car presents in highly original condition. Detailed inspection confirms that the body panels, seams and areas such as the wheel arches, luggage compartment and engine bay retain their original factory appearance, including the characteristic original paint texture. Original European stickers remain present in the door opening.
Paint-meter readings indicate that the front of the car has been repainted at some point, while the remainder of the exterior retains its original paint. The front repaint is not documented, although its age appears consistent with the stone chips and signs of use visible today.
The odometer appears original and unopened, with no signs of previous intervention to the surrounding trim or fixing screws. The car is also accompanied by its original unused spare wheel and factory tool kit, while the original Fuchs Turbo wheels remain fitted. The original Berlin Radio is still in place and functioning.
The original service book contains numerous stamps, complemented by an extensive collection of invoices documenting the car's maintenance and recent mechanical work. The car has been serviced and maintained throughout its life and, having spent several years in a collection, has seen very limited use in recent years.
Mechanically, the car presents particularly well. The engine is dry, starts readily and maintains excellent oil pressure, while the four-speed manual gearbox operates smoothly and precisely. The car has recently passed its technical inspection and is currently registered in Belgium.
With its original mileage, documented first registration, largely original paint, preserved factory details and attractive Marine Blue-on-Blue specification, this 930 Turbo offers a particularly well-preserved example of Porsche's definitive 3.3-litre Turbo.
