he Porsche 993 is one of those cars that does not need a long speech. It is the final air-cooled generation of the 911, and for many Porsche people, that already says enough. It marks the end of one of the most important chapters in Porsche history: the last 911 with that classic air-cooled flat-six character, wrapped in a shape that still looks absolutely spot on today. Within the 993 family, the Targa has always been the one with a little extra personality. The large sliding glass roof completely changes the atmosphere of the car. More light, more openness, more character. You still get the real 911 feeling, but with that extra touch that makes every drive feel just a little more special.
This Porsche 993 Targa was delivered new in Germany, Porsche’s home country, through Porsche Zentrum München, MAHAG Sportwagen Zentrum GmbH, and was first registered on 06/03/1997. A final-generation air-cooled 911, delivered new where the Porsche story belongs.
The car is finished in Arena Red Metallic, confirmed by paint code L84S on the original option sticker. It is a proper 1990s Porsche colour and it suits the 993 shape extremely well. The same option sticker also confirms interior code LC, corresponding to the Cashmere Beige and Black full leather interior. A very strong combination and a big part of what makes this Targa stand out.
Even more importantly, this example is equipped with the highly desirable manual G50/20 gearbox. And honestly, that is the gearbox you want in a 993. Air-cooled, 3.6 litre, rear-engined and manual.
