The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce is one of those cars that explains perfectly why Alfa Romeo became such a magical name in the first place. Small, light, elegant, beautifully engineered and built with a level of sporting intent that you simply feel straight away. The standard Giulietta Sprint was already one of the prettiest Italian coupés of the 1950s, but the Veloce was the serious one. Lighter, sharper, more powerful and intended for people who cared about how a car drove, not just how it looked. And this one is not just a nice Sprint Veloce. Far from it.

This rare Alfa Romeo 750E Interim Giulietta Sprint Veloce was produced on 6 May 1959, sold on 16 July 1959 to Caracas, Venezuela, and delivered new in stunning Blu Tornado. It is one of only around 200 transition examples between the early 750 Veloce and the later 101 series. Rare already, but that is only the beginning of the story. What really makes this car special is its originality. This is a genuine unrestored time capsule, beautifully preserved, showing just over 32,000 km and still carrying so much of the character it has built up over more than 65 years. The paintwork is largely original, the interior has survived with wonderful authenticity, and the car still has that honest, untouched feeling that no restoration can ever recreate. You can restore shine. You cannot restore soul.

That is exactly why this Alfa is so charming. The details, the materials, the smell, the way everything has aged together, it all feels right. And then there is the history. This Sprint Veloce was owned for many years by Abele Cavicchioli, the renowned Alfa Romeo and Ferrari Formula 1 chief mechanic. Cavicchioli was not just a previous owner. He was part of the inner circle of Italian motorsport during one of its greatest periods. His name belongs to the world of Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Formula 1 and Juan Manuel Fangio. Having his personal Giulietta Sprint Veloce, still accompanied by period Venezuelan documents, gives this car a level of provenance that is very rarely found.

The history file is exactly what you hope to see with a car like this. It includes period Venezuelan ownership and registration documents in the name of Abele Cavicchioli, old Venezuelan insurance papers, tax and municipal documents and original number plate records. The certificate confirms the original Blu Tornado colour, the Caracas delivery and, very importantly, that this is a matching numbers example.

Now, usually there is one problem with time capsules: they often look fantastic, but mechanically they have spent too much time sleeping. This one is different. It offers the best of both worlds. It remains highly original and unrestored, but it has not been left mechanically neglected. Rock ’N Roll Classics recently carried out around €6,500 of recommissioning work, focused on making the car properly usable again. So yes, you get the magic of a survivor, but without immediately inheriting a list of jobs.

For us, this Giulietta Sprint Veloce is exactly the kind of car that makes collectors stop talking for a second. Unrestored, largely original, matching numbers, rare 750E Interim specification, delivered new in Blu Tornado, showing just over 32,000 km and carrying exceptional Cavicchioli provenance. This is not just a beautiful Alfa Romeo. This is a proper little legend. A genuine survivor with a story, a soul and just the right amount of Italian magic.
