Of the limousines built in very small numbers, often only on order (3717 units) , used by royals and top VIPs, only 71 were left hand drive. This is therefore a very exceptional car, with bodywork by Vanden Plas, in extraordinary condition. Originally the car was delivered in Gouda, the Netherlands, in Opalescent silver gray over Gunmetal with a Blue-gey leather front bench and a Gray velvet interior for the passengers. On the order form almost all options were ticked, radio front and rear, retractable partition in glass, a bar entirely in wood for the passengers, electric windows and so on, for those days an unprecedented luxury. The driver, because of course you did not drive this car yourself, looked out over a beautiful dashboard in burr walnut, all the buttons at hand, to make his undoubtedly important passengers comfortable.
This brings us to the greatest (but not the only) asset of this car: in our opinion, the interior is totally original and in a beautiful condition. Velvet, woodwork and leather still radiate the grandeur of that time and everything is still so beautiful that this partly makes us decide that the mileage is most likely also the real kilometers walked. Since over time the car was used mainly for weddings, especially in a French Chateau, a previous owner decided to paint the bodywork in the appropriate Old English white.
Recently, the car was given a thorough mechanical overhaul. The fantastic engine we know from the Jaguar E-type was removed and completely overhauled, all moving parts were checked, cleaned and if necessary replaced, the bodywork was repaired where necessary, new tires were fitted and so on. Of all this work there is a complete photo file as well as a bundle of invoices exceeding the value of the car.
In this way, the purchase of this magnificent limousine guarantees years of enjoyable trips with family or friends. What could be more fun than going out together (room for up to 8 people ) with a bottle of champagne in the bar to stop somewhere for a picnic.
